Building Outstanding Communities in London

L&Q and Mount Anvil are working in partnership to deliver the Whitechapel Central development, a flow of three new blocks of residential and workspace, new landscaped open space and gardens.

Planning permission was granted by Tower Hamlets in September 2019 for Phase 1 and 2 of Whitechapel Central, the former Safestore site between Sidney Street, Stepney Way and Raven Row.  Phase 1 of our construction is well underway and we are looking forward to completing the first new homes next year.

We are making some small improvements to the approved development which will increase the delivery of new homes, including additional affordable housing and workspace. These changes will increase the benefits from the development without impacting the overall design and appearance of the approved scheme.

We had planned to hold an information drop in session on the proposed amendments at The Futures Foundry on site on Saturday 21st March 2020.  Following government advice issued by the Prime Minister this week we have unfortunately had to cancel the information drop-in session to view the updated application for our Whitechapel Central site.

From Saturday 21 March, we will be placing the exhibition boards that would have been shown at the session, on this website under 'Documents'.  Please keep an eye on the News & Updates section of the website as well.
