About the Whitechapel Central project

The mixed-use scheme, known as ‘Whitechapel Central’ or 'The Silk District', will transform the existing self-storage building into an exciting place to live, work and enjoy, creating a positive legacy in the very heart of Whitechapel.

The development will include the delivery of 698 high quality homes of which 35% will be affordable (based on habitable room calculations), thoughtfully designed family homes, 43,620 sq ft of new commercial and employment space with c.1 acre of enhanced public open spaces, including pedestrianised streets and a new central square for the local community to enjoy.
